More than 90% of oil leakage problems are caused by the fact that the rubber oil sealing ring inside the gearbox is exposed to alternating cold and warm temperatures for a long time, causing the sealing ring to lose a large amount of plasticizer and softener, causing corrosion, aging and hardening. Drivers need to check the booster oil level regularly in order to detect problems as early as possible.
Emergency treatment methods for steering rack oil leakage recommended from TAIZHOU DONGNA:
1. Check the booster oil level. If there is any shortage, add it to the upper limit. Observe the booster oil level regularly to determine the speed of oil leakage.
2. When turning the direction, if you hear abnormal noises under the soles of your feet, it may be caused by a lack of oil in the steering rack. At this time, it is best to add booster oil to ensure that the steering gear is sufficiently lubricated.
3. If oil leakage is found and abnormal noise occurs, but there is no booster oil to add, it is recommended to repair it as soon as possible.
Repair method of steering rack oil leakage:
First, all oil leakage points need to be determined, including the steering gear, booster oil high and low pressure oil pipes, and steering pump, in order to completely solve the oil leakage problem.
If there have been abnormal noises for a period of time and there are wear debris in the power-assisted oil, it is necessary to replace the entire power steering system, including the power steering pump, steering rack, pipelines and oil storage tanks.
The Hazards of steering rack oil leakage:
When the steering rack lacks lubrication, abnormal noise will occur when turning the direction, ranging from small to large. However, the steering rack will not lock up immediately due to lack of lubrication, so the driver can have enough time to stop and check.
However, the power steering pump and the steering rack are integrated, that is, the steering gear mainly relies on the power steering pump to input power oil into the steering rack, so turning the direction is much easier. However, if the steering gear leaks oil and you forget to refill it, once the oil leaks out, it will cause great damage to the booster steering pump.

If the power steering rack wears out badly, it will start to leak. The absence of the hydraulic fluid will result to a hard, difficult steering. This is the right time to replace a new or re-conditioned replacement steering rack.
